Messing around in Toon Boom, and trying to get back into animation again. Didn't really plan this one out, I had no character in mind, just sort of went for it. Made her bouncy on purpose.

Some more progress. I haven't used any type of sculpting tool yet, it's all plane modeling. I figured that would be the best way to learn my way around Maya, so far it's not lookign bad, but adding more detail in Zbrush will bring it out more. I Adjusted the tubes on her back to look more like the tubes from the alien movies.

I decided to model my female sculpture inspired by the Alien movies in Maya. At first I just wanted to make a simple low poly model that I would take into Zbrush and sculpt all of the details there, but I just kept going and going in Maya because I wanted to practice my edge loops; I wanted to end up with something that I can animate later. It's still not done, and I still want to add more detail in Zbrush and possibly tweak the face a bit even though it'll have a helmet in the end. So far I'm pretty happy on how it's coming out.

I dusted off my airbrush and brushes and got to finish my sculpture. I need to learn how to take photos, that or my cameras suck cause my phone was the only thing that came close to taking pictures that blended the colors more naturally.

I Decided to mold and cast my sculpture. I was a bit nervous because it was my first time making a mold and since this piece has big undercuts, I was worried that I will screw up my hard work. I did some research and went with silicone mold, and rebound 25 seemed to be a good all around silicone mold material, and I was happy with the results. I bought the starter kit at Blicks but I found out that during the process of my mold making that just one kit wasn't enough for my 12 inch sculpture, I needed 2 kits and I should have probably bought another 2 lbs of the silicone mold. So I ended up using 4 lbs of silicone, but I should have probably used 6lbs. Even though I felt like I should have used more product, I'm happy with the end result. I plan to do another cast to try and see if i can fix any imperfections I felt i got with the first cast, but that was mostly my fault with my slush technique and demolding.

Making a bust of one of my sketches, here's some progress and evolution of the piece. Now starting the small skin details and refining, it's all a learning process.

Painted it

Accidentally painted it this grey metallic color thinking that it was more grey primer, but I like it. I might just leave it the way it is, now I just need to put it on a better stand.
